Goodbye... For Now

Well tomorrow I am off on a long awaited trip over seas. I am headed off to London and Ireland, and I'm just steaming in anticipation. This trip has placed it's self at just the perfect time, right when it is becoming unbearably hot and the summer is becoming boring. I have packed as many fabulous clothes as I can, let's just say I am really not a light packer, but I did my best. So now I am off and hopefully I will come back with some lovely pictures of beautiful green countryside, but for now I will borrow some to wet your appetites.

Show Me Your Remixing Skills

I am inspired by many things as most people are. Some of these many things being; music, the 20's, my amazing sister, vintage, people around me, movies, and of course, Wardrobe Remix!

Everyday I take the journey through the many fabulous girls, (and sometimes guys), on the Wardrobe Remix pool. And each day I am so pleasantly surprised by the talented young fashionistas out there. By combining any color tights with a high-waisted skirt, or 60's style mod dress, they bring countless smiles to my face. For fashion, I would say that they are my main source of inspiration. They know no limits on what they will wear, and they are fearless on what the world will say about their knee-high socks and military jackets. Their minds go places with clothing that the average girl's would not go. When one person picks up a floor-length muumuu dress covered in green flowers, they throw it right back, while these girls would pick it up, stare at it, and see a new dress that would look great with a shorter hem line and some black lace-up gladiator sandals and a light blue headband. They find inspiration anywhere and everywhere they go.

They have inspired me so, and now I will give them some credit for what they do daily. Today I was going all around The Wardrobe remix pool and finding lots of cool stuff but one girl amazed me more than anyone else I was seeing. Merefflorescence's outfits were so cohesive and everything seemed to look stunning on her. I would wear any of her outfits, if only I could pull them off with the style, and subtle casual grace that she does. With every click of my mouse, I found a new outfit to relish in and love. She can remix like no other!

That Band Is The Business... The Strokes

Arguably, one of the most talented, best looking, and most stylish bands around, has to be The Strokes.

Their sound is distinct and incomparable to almost any band. Their beets make their songs different and memorable. They will always be a favorite of mine. Many of the bands or artists I listen to are not well known to people I meet or know. But the strokes seem to have gotten their name out there and because of their talent, it is not hard to understand why. I think their style has also played a role in their successes. As a band they are cohesive, but even so, each member has his own unique style.

1) Julian Casablancas (lead vocals, songwriting)

2) Nick Valensi (lead guitar)

3) My favorite band member: Albert Hammond Jr. (rhythm guitar)

Got My Attention

I finally, after months of having it sit in my house, watched the movie Ray. Yes, it was good and told a great story about an interesting man, but what really got my attention was the sunglasses worn by Jamie Foxx in the film. I do think Ray Charles had his own style and I think the glasses were just the perfect addition to his signature look. Now I find my self wanting some of his sunglasses so bad.

How To Wear... Oversized Glasses

Glasses, not only for correcting sight, but for a fashion statement. If this look sounds hard to pull off, then you are right. Well I guess it is hard to find confidence rather than a way to wear them. I know I have not yet been brave enough to wear the old fashioned glasses I received for my birthday... in January.

It takes just the right look and outfit to make these oversized beauties work. These girls pull it off just right. I admire their guts and AMAZING fashion choices.

She Is The Business...Charlotte Gainsbourg

About a week or so ago I watched a little movie I had heard a lot about. It recounted the life of a music legend in the most distinct way. By using four interesting and noticeably different men, a little boy, and one extremely talented woman, the life of Bob Dylan made it's way to my computer screen. I do have to say that this movie was a bit hard to follow seeing that I am not a hard-core Dylan fan, but surprisingly, I got swallowed up in the entrancing songs and intricate stories.

One story, and my favorite story of the six, focused around the relationship between Dylan and Sarah Lownds. Heath Ledger plays Robbie who's an actor. Playing the role of his former wife, Claire, was Charlotte Gainsbourg. As I watched this portion of the movie I became entranced by Charlotte Gainsbourg's style. She looks different than any other woman and her style was casual, yet sophisticated.

Stranded...In Fashion

Two girls happened to be hanging out around our house today in these darling little outfits. So what do any two girls do when they are all dressed up on the sunniest of days, a photo shoot. Soon after this idea popped into their little minds, I became the designated photographer even though I am not gifted in the ways of photography at all! So all though I did not style their fabulous shoot, I did contribute my own touches to their looks, but I can't take much credit for how wonderful they look.

We came up with a story as we ventured out in vineyards near our house:
Two fabulously fashionable young ladies got stranded out in the middle of no where.

Tried to see what the problem was.

They went to find help and took a trip through some beautiful vineyards.

Photobucket

Found some wild delicious kiwis growing conveniently on their trail.
Photobucket

Stopped for a rest, tired from the hot mexican sun.
Photobucket

Came upon a stream and tried to get some water to refresh themselves.

And took time to tango.
Photobucket

Walked toward the hidden road.

Got into a fight over who was more breathtaking.

Tried to catch a ride via hitch-hiking.
