My Top 3 From Hel Looks

Hel Looks is just too inspiring.  Pictures from the stylish streets of Helsinki.  I will be selecting some of my favorites from time to time.  I suggest that you take some time to explore the street style.

Girls:

It is hard for me to say why I love this look so.  The perfect way to wear a jean jacket, 

perfect white glasses, and perfect color shoes.

The color of these jeans makes it hard not to adore.  And the best part is all the accents of red.

Maybe I will just go crazy over any high-waisted floral skirt, but this one is especially because she made it out of old 90's pants!

Boys:

The shoes paired with that vintage little bag and a trench coat makes for the most fashionable safari look.

All he needs now is a violin and I bet he could make only the best music.

The jeans, shirt and super shoes would have looked great alone, but adding the trench was a stroke of genius.

Blogs That Are Totally The Business

While traveling through my long list of frequent blog reads, I have discovered three girls who have started to stick out from the rest.  Fashion Toast, Karla's Closet, and Emma Nygren are three girls who have a definite fashion sense.  Their blogs offer endless fashion inspiration and joy.  While they all three have their own style, I find that some of their staples and looks can really refelct eachother, which I find absolutely darling. 

Differences: Karla's Closet tends to experiment with jeans a bit more.  She has no fear of throwing on a boyfriend jean, rolling up the bottoms, and throwing a heal on in order to make a unique look.  Shoes are so inportant for Fashion Toast.  They have got to be bold and fashion forward!  Every different shoe enhances each outfit an a different way.  I like how much variety you find in Emma Nygren's outfits.  She may wear all black and super formfitting, or she can go for hippy flow.

Similarities:  All three of the girls find something to love within the color black.  They will dab in other colors but they all return to black.  Short short, skirts and dresses, they love the short look!  Socks with high-heels!  They really know how to make the socks look work.

That Band Is The Business... Castledoor

Castledoor are about as cute as bands come. There is something to respect about an underground band who is working their way into all our ipods. I find their sound to be universally appealing yet unlike any other band around. With only a short stack of songs for me to delight my ears with, they always keep me wanting more. This is why their new EP was so greatly accepted and appreciated by myself and just about every other Castledoor fan. My sister has seen them in concert twice already, and I have yet to see them once, but I will. Their style is very complementary to their sound and overall feel, which makes it super stylish.

Show Me Your Remixing Skills... ragga-muffin

Some people can look cute in whatever they wear. These people put together looks that are just fun to gaze at and pick up ideas from. One of these people is ragga-muffin. Her clothes look super comfortable, and so fun to wear. With endless colored tights and knee-socks she can make outfits look wearable and stylish. Her variety of cute shoes are like exclamation points to every outfit. ragga-muffin has an ability to make me want everything she wears, even full on leopard print high-waisted shorts.

How To Wear... Overalls

Ok, so let's talk overalls. Yeah I know they are mainly for children and they are really not a current trend, but I say forget that! Overalls are seldom seen worn in a fashionable way out there in the world, so why not take a chance with them. They are different and the right pair can be adorable when paired with some tights, a scarf and a vintage blouse. I know that many people out there disagree with me, even my own stylish sister admits that she hates them and I know she thinks I look ridiculous when I wear them, but I am trying to wear her down. I love fashion risk-takers, and to me overalls are absolutely a fashion risk worth taking.

List Of... Things My Sewing Life Needs

After an extremely successful trip to a thrift store the other day, I have decided that it is time for me to get my own sewing supplies. Almost everything I bought at that thrift store, or any thrift store, need some needle and thread attention. It might be a hem, or shorten sleeves, or a new button, but everything needs some work. I have been borrowing my mom's nice collection of sewing materials and now, I need my own things. I made a list of things I need to be able to sew like a pro!
